About me
Beach Jewel’s began when my son (then 4) started collecting sea glass at school in his ‘beach school lessons’. As we live close to the sea and walk our dog there most days, as a family we started enjoying collecting all the different pieces of beautiful glass in different colours and shapes. Most of the glass I use, comes from the shores in Hampshire but a few pieces have been collected from Devon, Cornwall, the Scilly Isles and even the west coast of a France! Many pieces could have been in the sea for decades and come from things such as wine, beer, rum, whiskey, coke, ink or medicine bottles. Every piece of glass is unique in its colour and shape and each one is a beautiful little gem.
I started making jewellery and pictures with the glass as a hobby. More and more friends and family started asking for bespoke items and the feedback was really positive, so I decided to make a business out of my hobby. Everything is handmade by myself in my workshop and each piece is made to order. Each piece of sea glass is carefully chosen for its colour, clarity and overall appearance. Many pieces are lightly tumbled before being made into a unique picture, card or piece of jewellery.
The main colours I use are sea foam, white and various greens, occasionally cornflower blue, pinks & lilacs and grey. The rarest colours are red and yellow, blue is difficult to find as is pink and grey! Every item is made to order, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch and let me know what I can make for you. I will provide prices, the colours I have available and timescales. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
